Annie is one of the most enthusiastic, positive, and energetic mamas I know! Annie is mom to three sweet kiddos and she's a loyal WI Badger cheering wife to husband Rich (literally she cheered at WI AND it shows in the best way possible). She is also a super hard working, dedicated career mama! With everything she has going on Annie makes time for her workouts and religiously tracks everything with MyFitnessPal--she is so committed to her goals--it's impressive & inspiring! Annie has attended Stroller Strides, our Boost classes, and recently completed two sessions of Body Back with some absolutely amazing results! She always comes to class ready to give 100% AND is our team cheerleader! She's constantly encouraging others and cheering the group on when things get tough--it is so refreshing to see how much she cares about ALL the other mamas in Our Village. Annie is truly a kind and caring person and I'm so honored to call her friend! We love you, Annie and thank you so much for touching the lives all of the mamas in Our Village! You're the...more
Christie is one of the most kindest moms I know! I have known her for almost a year now, and watching her dedication to her kids and how she wants to open her home to adopt more kids is awe-inspiring. She works hard in class, gives the exercises her all and always comes to class with a "Can Do" attitude. She also plans our monthly MNOs and finds unique, fun venues for us each month. Christie and her husband Craig are parents to two adorable boys; Alexander and Anderson. We are so fortunate to have Christie in our village of amazing Mommies!
How has becoming a mother changed you?
I’ve been overwhelmed by the blessing - I’ve surprised myself and family/friends with the shift in my priorities, making the decision to pause my career a bit to become highly involved in caring for my boys. While I find myself nostalgic for the years of exciting frequent travel and fine dining I enjoyed with my husband; the peace and joy I experience snuggling, caring, and teaching my sweet boys is immeasurable!
Shana is an incredibly dedicated mom who gives her all at each and every class! She is extremely committed to her family (husband, Rodney and daughter, Aubrey) and to her job as an athletic trainer. She is so supportive of other moms in our Body Back group and always has an encouraging word to share. I’ve personally known Shana for four years and started in Body Back with her all that time ago. She’s kept her commitment to being a healthy mom, wife, and self and recently achieved her yearend weight loss goal. In addition and in true spirit of striving for more, Shana signed up for a half marathon in 2018! She’s an inspiration to the moms in our village and I’m so glad our paths have crossed! You’re the best, Shana! I cannot wait to see all that you will achieve in 2018!
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination?
A week anywhere on a beach with my girlfriends (because my husband hates the beach & hot weather...I don’t get it!) with lots of sun, sand, and sights to see & enjoy!
Tricia - November 2017
Tricia is such a wonderful asset to our Fit4Mom Village!! It truly would not have the same vibe without her. I have gotten to know her and her beautiful daughter Evie over the past several months and am proud to call them my friends! I admire the love and patience she has for her family and her desire to travel! Her interest in ancestry has inspired the ladies of our group. Nothing can hold this hard working girl back! Her belief on our village has attracted several other moms too! She always brings her A game and is encouraging to others. Tricia, WE LOVE YOU!!
What has been your proudest mommy moment so far?
Evy makes me proud every day, but the most recent time was when she said “ankoo” (thank you) at a restaurant.
What advice would you give a new mom?
Put yourself out there to find mom friends! I’m the first of most of my friends to have children (the only one in Illinois that has children) so I feel like I had/have to really put myself out there to meet other moms in the area. Stroller...more
Melissa is one of the most hard-working moms I know. She started Body Back two sessions ago and has been killing it ever since! She is a dedicated nurse by day, and sometimes even night, an amazing mom to 8-month year old Harper, loving sister, wife, and so much more. Even with all those responsibilities, she still finds time to focus on herself. Melissa meal preps every week, schedules time to exercise, even if it is before the sun rises, and comes to class every week ready to go! She is kind, caring and has become a great friend to not only me, but also the other women of our village. They look up to her and are inspired by her energy, dedication, and persistence day in and day out. We love you Melissa and are so happy to have you in our village!
What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?
- I really had no idea what I was in for with motherhood and felt clueless about what it was going to be like so I would say I had very little expectations. I have definitely been surprised at how much love I have for her and how different the love...more
Kate is on her 5th session of Body Back and she continues to crush her goals each time! She started the program as a way to increase energy to keep up with her (then) active 3 year-old daughter and baby boy Gavin. She continues working out and attending Body Back classes to set an example for her family on how to be a good role model as a full time working mom committed to a healthy lifestyle. Kate has increased her physical fitness ability by 30%, lost 20+ pounds and has a drool-worthy-Pinterest weekday meal prep game that inspires our entire group! Outside of Body Back, she continues to push herself --- for example, as a former runner growing up, she has added runs back into her work outs and brings her A-game at class with group sprints and long jogs. Her go-to attitude and incredibly sweet nature makes her a village favorite! We are so lucky to have Kate!

Why her instructor chose her:
There is no way to do this amazing woman justice in a written paragraph, but I’m going to try. When I met Julie at our grand opening class with her “train” stroller as we called it, pushing her twins around that track as fast as she could, I knew she was going to be something special. This woman has endured many sleepless nights, illness, travel and all the wonderful hurdles that come with motherhood as graceful as any. And not only that, she strives to motivate and inspire other moms to do the same. This mom not only participates in class, she pushes herself to the limit each and every time, I never hear a complaint or an “I Can’t” out of her. Not only that, she also strategizes with me on how to get others to reach their true potential and I know I can count on her to boost morale if needed. This isn’t just to help me, she does it because she genuinely cares for every person she meets. I feel so lucky to have such a positive influence in my class, and I cannot wait to see where this journey takes this amazing Mom. -Maggie, Naperville...more
Why her instructor nominated her:
Jennie has been an inspiration to me ever since I met her in January. She has such an easy-going way about her, she makes having three kids ranging from 10 months to 8 years old look simple! Jennie's commitment to keeping her family and herself healthy is evident. She is a part of our Body Back program and told me that she'd have her morning smoothies with her 8 year old! I'd say THAT is setting an awesome example. She is truly a model of what it means to be a "supermom". - Becca

What is or was your career? I was an auditor/CPA at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 4.5 years and then worked at DePaul University in their Internal Audit group for 2 years. While working at DePaul, I got my certification/masters in education to teach elementary school. I did my student teaching while pregnant with Harrison and finished exactly one week before he was born. Since then, we've moved around a lot and I have...more
